Shimano L03A disc brake pads made of resin and equipped with Ice-Tech cooling fins. 40 % more wear resistant than its predecessor L02A. Recommended for Dura Ace, Ultegra and Metrea disc brake calipers.
(listing not final)
Resin brake pads are quieter than metal pads but have a lower performance and a bigger wear. Metal brake pads have a longer durability, are more resistant to fading and offer consistent brake performance even if it is wet. Compared to resin pads metal pads can produce noises when braking.
The fading which can occur to disc brake rotor and pad when braking on a long downhill ride for instance, has a negative impact on the braking performance. Shimano has adopted Ice-Tech disc brake rotor and brake pad to realize the cooling technology for consistent performance. The disc brake rotor blade which has a 3 layer-sandwich structure of stainless steel, aluminum and stainless steel, provides better radiation performance achieving a lower surface temperature. Aluminium cooling fins have been adopted the brake pad improving the radiation performance even further. In combination the disc brake rotor blade and the radiator fin provide long pad life, less noise, less fade and lightweight.

Kool-Stop sintered metal disc brake pads are designed to give your bike performance braking in extreme conditions, e.g. XC, downhill, trials and dual slalom riding. Our pads have a quick break-in period so you get maximum performance during those demanding rides when stopping power, durability and long pad life are required. Sintered metal compounds have a higher resistance to brake fluid contamination and should not be used on ceramic rotors or in closed hydraulic systems.
Resin brake pads are quieter than metal pads but have a lower performance and a bigger wear. Metal brake pads have a longer durability, are more resistant to fading and offer a consistent brake performance even if it is wet. But compared to resin brake pads metal pads can produce noises when braking.
Content of delivery: 1 pair of brake pads
Fitting for:
Adaptor to use a larger brake disc in combination with a Postmount fork or frame and a Postmount brake. The included washers are surface-treated (silver) and will not rust. The wire is used to fix the screw. The adapter can be used as follows:
fork with 140 mm mount:
SM-MA90-R180P/P for the use of a 160 mm brake disc
fork with 160 mm mount:
SM-MA90-R180P/P for the use of a 180 mm brake disc
frame with 140 mm mount:
SM-MA90-R180P/P for the use of a 160 mm brake disc
frame with 180 mm mount:
SM-MA90-R203P/P for the use of a 203 mm brake disc
Note: To use a 203 mm disc at a 160 mm at the fork, you need the adapter SM-MA-R203P/PA
